At Sleep Solutions we offer new state of the art technology in the comfort of a restored circa 1726 building.
Testing is done during the weekday evenings and over the weekends. You will feel secure in your own room while being constantly monitored by a system of networked computers controlled by a respiratory technician.
The sleep study will evaluate all sleep parameters. During your sleep it is important that one enters the critical REM sleep. It is here that dreaming occurs and repair of daily stress takes place.
Our Resperonics sleep equipment will measure your brain waves to determine if REM sleep is present.
The testing also measures:
- Muscle activity
- Eye movement
- Heart rate & rhythm
- Breathing
How is it done?
Electrodes are gently taped to your head and body. Elastic straps are placed your chest and abdomen to monitor breathing. Your heart rate and oxygen level are measured by a laser light clipped on your finger.
Although the setup can feel unusual at first, you will still be able to roll and rotate your body in bed. The technician is always available to assist if you are having any difficulty during the test.
